SOURCING & PREPARATION
Several suppliers. One coordinated shipment.
How to prepare supplier orders for a conversation about cargo consolidation.
Create one order list
List each supplier, product, order reference, quantity and expected readiness date. A simple shared list helps identify what has arrived, what is outstanding and which goods are ready to move together. Keep supplier contact details available for coordination.
Agree receiving arrangements first
Contact the logistics team before directing suppliers to send goods to a warehouse. Confirm the receiving location, contact person, shipment labels and any handling instructions. Ask what information should appear on every carton so goods can be matched to your order.
Check the goods before dispatch
Discuss inspection requirements early. Confirm which checks are needed and how discrepancies should be reported. Keep purchase records and supplier packing information together so any missing items or packing issues can be discussed before the shipment leaves.
Plan the final shipment
Once the orders are ready, confirm the combined package count, weight, dimensions and delivery destination. Discuss packing, freight options and any storage or collection arrangements before agreeing the shipment plan.
